Race 2013/2014

Courtyard and barn "opened up" for our dogs

We have now integrated Dakota into our human pack as a house and farm dog. She is almost 15 years old, has developed hearing and visual impairments and is now allowed to spend time with us. It looks like she enjoys being in a pack of people, especially since one or the other piece falls down, which our Dakota benefits from.

This was also the reason why my husband now had to secure the farm. The rest of the pack now also has the opportunity to explore the yard and stable.

Our conversion work in the barn will certainly be completed by winter, so that we can spend the winter together with our dogs in the barn by the fireplace. Many mushers have such a common "dog cuddle room" and finally we do too! I'm already looking forward to the common "dog cuddle and lounge area" for our huskies.

Beach vacation with Steffi and Bernd - at the lake!

On Sunday we once again spent a few wonderful hours with our dogs at Steffi and Bernd's - at the lake!

In spite of the high temperatures, our dogs explored the terrain non-stop and restlessly. In between, a little cooling off was taken in the lake - that was a blessing for both the musher and his dogs.

Our Anuk completed the "Seahorse Swimming Stage" with her musher. When a family of ducks was in sight, our Anuk dared bravely into the water and out "on the high seas" to kill the prey and "present" it to the musher? Despite numerous shouts, Anuk did not let go of this family of ducks, so that Bernd and André had to fetch them back by boat.

Once again it was a great experience for everyone. Our little "duck hunter" is lying exhausted in the run together with the other pack members! Until next time!?

15.-16.03.2014 - Colbitz

The last race before the long summer break took place in Colbitz last weekend.

In class A1 (with 8 dogs), André and his team won 4th place.

The racing season has once again passed far too quickly and we are now looking forward to what is to come. If everything goes well, our Nury will give us puppies again in the summer. This will be another wonderful and exciting time. We are very excited and can't wait to see it again.

February 21-23, 2014 - Training weekend at the Animal Wellness Area with Angela and Andreas Wiatowski

Unfortunately, the race in Seiffen was cancelled. Since we all wanted to make the best use of our free stretcher, we simply drove over to Angela's and used this free weekend to train. Steffi also used this opportunity to practice with her young team - Head on passing. The video that Angela put together reflects the great training weekend. During this training weekend we had the opportunity to get to know each other better. Many thanks Angela for the "spontaneous" great training weekend!

04.-05.01.2014 - Pullman City

After the race weekend in Pullman City, we are looking forward to our first snow race in Seiffen. It's like an addiction, like a fever - a "husky fever". No sooner have you said goodbye to everyone after the race than you long for the next race.

According to the weather report, it should actually remain “dry”. In the night from Friday to Saturday, however, a cloudburst broke over us, so that the trail, just like in 2013, resembled a mud track again. Nevertheless, everything went great. The first overtaking maneuver with our team of 8 went without any problems. My husband won second place with his team of eight. Stefanie Knoop has provided us with numerous images. Thank you Stefanie!

Although Friday was very stormy, rainy and in places very slippery, we were drawn to Klink an der Müritz. After all, word got around that this should be a great race with an enchanting "backdrop" and the most important thing is of course always - the reunion.

The trail led directly along the Müritz - beautiful, right? Unfortunately, mushers and dogs have little time to enjoy all this.

Unfortunately, numerous participants had canceled, so that in some classes only a few mushers started. Angela's 8-leash arrived on time, so that we could also start in class A (with 8 dogs) in Klink. My husband won 1st place in class A with his 8 huskies.

23.-24.11.2013 - Spremberg

The race weekends always go by far too quickly. In addition, a line dance workshop was offered, which was well received by the mushers. It was very funny and of course everyone had a lot of fun. That was a great idea - Carmen! We are already looking forward to the upcoming race 2014 in Spremberg!!

Since Angela Wiatowski lent us an 8-line, we were able to start in class A1 (8-dogs) for the first time. The trail was very demanding and varied. Despite minor breakdowns, my husband and his 8 huskies won second place in this class. The initial problems are now resolved. Our dogs have learned to shit at the stake-out! The bucket has never been so full! Our oldies are also becoming calmer and felt more comfortable on the racetracks.

02.-03.11.2013 - Large berries

Unfortunately, my husband had to start the race in Großbeeren alone. Unfortunately, I was not able to take part for "work-related" reasons. Fortunately, there are always many helping hands on the racetrack. That was always what I found so beautiful about this sport. It only works as a family and with each other and all of this is present at racecourses. A big family. ....

26.-27.10.2013 - Calvörde

Unfortunately it was too warm for our dog sport this weekend, so the race on Sunday had to be cancelled.

The first day of racing went well. Our team fought for 5th place out of a total of 12 starters in class B (6 dog classes).

We hope that it will be cooler now, so that nothing stands in the way of the sport.

October 19-20, 2013 - Halle/Dieskau

So, on October 18th, 2013 the time had finally come - for our first race of the season. We start this season with 6 dogs - class B. Only next year we can start completely with our 8 dogs. Until then, we want to buy a new training car, which is also approved for this class. The first race on Saturday went well. As temperatures climbed to 20 degrees on Sunday, the race was cancelled.

Better-Mushing-Seminar

On September 14-15 my husband attended the Better Mushing seminar. The organizer and initiator of this seminar was Angela Wiatowski, who organized both the content and the catering excellently. 28 participants, including Steffi Giebler, took part in this event. The goal was to get the Better Mushing Pass. ...
